is the Head of Barefoot Science’s Medical Advisory Board and a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon who is the Professor, Department of Surgery at the University of Western Ontario, Medical Director of the Fowler-Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic, and Physician-In-Charge of Western's intercollegiate athletic teams. From 2002-2003, Dr. Fowler was President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

In 1995, Dr. Fowler was the first recipient of the Alumni Professional Achievement Award, University of Western Ontario.

In only 8 years of international coaching his athletes have won 11 medals (4 gold) in Olympic Games and World Championships, and 22 national championship titles. He is the only coach who has produced Olympic and World champions in two different sports: track and field and rowing. He has also compiled training programs for professional teams, and guided individual athletes to their highest athletic achievements. In recognition to his contributions to the body of knowledge in training, fitness, and coaching education, Professor Bompa received 22 honours and awards, 19 of them internationally.

As a consultant he has directed the creation of national training systems in several countries and all of Dr. Bompa’s publications, conferences and ideas are highly regarded and enthusiastically sought out by many athletes, coaches and training specialists’ worldwide. His concepts and ideas are primarily prevalent in the areas of planning, peaking, strength training, power training and age-group training. Numerous Universities around the world use his various publications as course textbooks.

is President of Sports Training, Inc. a multi-faceted company specializing in biomechanical/kinesiological analyses and sports specific training. Dr. Yessis is Professor Emeritus at California State University. He is a clinical advisor and a member of the editorial board for the American Running Association.
Dr. Yessis has developed many unique sports specific exercises and specialized training programs to improve technique, strength, flexibility, power, speed and quickness. His training program, now known as the Yessis method of improving performance, consists mainly of biomechanical analyses and the creation of specialized exercises that duplicate exactly what the athlete must do in execution of his sports skills. He has been a training and technique consultant to several Olympic and professional sports teams, such as the L.A. Rams and the L.A. Raiders football clubs, U.S. Men’s Volleyball Team and many athletes from youth to the professional level. He also conducts clinics and seminars especially in the areas of speed and quickness.
Dr. Yessis received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He was the first to show the relationships between muscular strength and endurance in his research. He taught on the university level for over 35 years in the areas of biomechanics (technique analysis), kinesiology (muscle and joint movements) and exercise science. In addition he was Editor-in-Chief of the Fitness and Sports Review International for 29 years.
Dr. Yessis was a regular writer for Muscle and Fitness magazine for 25 years, and his column “Training Notebook” was the number one rated article in the magazine. He was also a columnist for Peak Running Performance, and now writes regularly for Volleyball Magazine, Women’s Basketball and Speed -Strength magazine
Dr. Yessis has made guest appearances on many TV shows, including the Today Show (twice), PM Magazine, Good Morning America—Los Angeles, Eye on San Diego, Cable Vision, Sports Page on Cox Cable and CNN News. He has also been written up in many newspapers and referred to in many journals, including Sports Illustrated, Sport, California Magazine, Time, “M”, Special Report, People, San Diego Union, North County Times and others.
